Driving improved business agility, effectiveness and efficiency through appropriate investment in technology.

In a rapidly expanding digital world, technology is increasingly complex as it seeks to address growing customer and staff expectations for secure, responsive, personalised services delivered in real time. Effective and efficient architecture capabilities are vital, guiding organisations through their digital journey.

For more than a decade, Braestone has specialised in the delivery of a range of Architecture services. From assisting with the establishment of internal enterprise architecture capabilities through to the provision of project specific solution architecture services, we have a proven track record in ensuring organisations appropriately align their information systems to current and future business needs.

Enterprise Architecture

Braestone helps organisations develop a strategic enterprise architecture view of their current and future information system needs. The focus of our approach is to understand the business opportunities, challenges and associated strategies driving an organisation. This is then used to determine the suitability of current supporting information systems in addressing current and future business needs. Our analysis includes the development of target business and technology architectures, and the supporting implementation roadmaps required to address any shortcomings. Increasingly, the focus of this work is on addressing the level of transformational change needed to an organisation’s systems environments in support of digital enablement.  Braestone also specialises in helping organisations to establish their own internal enterprise architecture capability. We assist in the introduction of appropriate architecture governance processes and standards and provide mentoring and advice to internal architects during the establishment phase of an internal enterprise architecture capability.

Solution Architecture

Braestone’s solution architecture services are typically provided in support of project or program implementation activities, ensuring the technical design for any new solution addresses functional and non-functional requirements and is in line with any existing enterprise architecture-related standards. Braestone’s experienced solution architects are The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF®) accredited and leaders in this discipline.  We adapt our processes to each client’s project delivery method or apply it in combination with our project delivery method.  Braestone can provide solution architecture services on a project-by-project basis or as part of an ongoing architecture service.

Cloud Architecture

Organisations require a wide range of technology services such as telecommunications, security, data management, desktop and mobility. Cloud architecture relates to the development of a design that delivers an organisation’s technology services through a Cloud service delivery model. Without a well-defined Cloud architecture, organisations are vulnerable to security threats, inefficient services, higher than necessary costs and, ultimately, dissatisfied business users.

Cloud architecture typically utilises a range of Cloud delivery models such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) or Software as a Service (SaaS). These may be provided by several Cloud vendors that span geographical regions, requiring secure connectivity for integration and secure and high-performance access. Braestone’s Cloud architects have broad experience across many commercial Cloud offerings including Azure, AWS and the WA State Government’s private Cloud, GovNext. Our approach is based on developing a logical technology reference model that identifies all the technology service categories an organisation requires and then developing the architecture for how these will be delivered through a Cloud platform.

Integration Architecture

The move away from monolithic systems to loosely coupled digital applications has placed an increasing emphasis on good integration design.  Braestone’s integration architecture approach leverages our solution architecture method, based on The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF®). Our integration architects are typically embedded as specialists within an architecture team, to focus on the more technical aspects of service integration design involving logical data modelling and analysis, data flow analysis and services contract specification. Our integration architects have specialised expertise in a range of integration platforms, including Azure Integration Services, Oracle and MuleSoft. We have also worked with a number of clients to assist them in the evaluation and selection of both on-premise and Cloud-based integration platforms.
